Business School Induction

The information below applies to the 2020 Induction period. 

Induction provides you with essential information about your programme and gives you the chance to meet members of your programme team.

It aims to: 

  • embed a culture of networking and teamwork
  • generate energy through interactive sessions
  • set expectations for the course of study ahead
  • provide a community for you to engage with and become part of

It also exposes you to a range of opportunities that will boost your employability, help you to get involved in the University and make you ready for global business.

We advise you to bookmark this page and check back regularly as induction schedules are updated regularly.

For new students, the password for the online Zoom sessions will be sent to your University email address and to the personal email address that you applied with.

Programme Handbooks

There's a lot to remember during your time at university. You will want to know more about your degree programme, assessment arrangements, what to do if you have a problem and who to go to for support.

Smart cards - new students

New students: Once you have completed your online registration via S3P you are eligible to receive a University Smartcard. Your Smartcard will give you access to all University facilities.

Your Smartcard contains a photograph and brief details including your name, unique student number and library number. It confirms your student registration and identity. 

How to get your smartcard: 

  1. Visit the University webpage for guidance on how to create your smart card
  2. Collect your card from The Frederick Douglass Centre - between Monday 28 September to Friday 02 October (The schedule for the exact date/time you can collect your smartcard will be released shortly).

If you arrive after Thursday 15 October please collect your smartcard from the Philip Robinson or Walton Libraries (UK and EU students) or Student Services, level 2, King’s Gate Building (International students).
