Aims
Digital technologies are transforming the ways that organisations do business. This module develops an understanding of how developments in information systems (IS), internet-based innovations, artificial intelligence and other technologies are changing business models and growth strategies of organisations. Through this understanding you will learn a value-led approach to the transformation opportunities and challenges created by digital technologies and innovations.
The module explores the impact of digital transformation on people, processes and systems. You will consider current trends of technology development such as low code tools and how these can lead to a more democratised approach to transformation. The focus of the module is on how managers can adopt a value driven approach, making use of contemporary techniques in design thinking, user research and project management to lead effective transformation and build the capabilities required to realise digital value.

Assessment Rationale And Relationship
Lectures, readings and class discussions / activities are designed to help you identify an opportunity for digital transformation to achieve impact in a host/partner organisation. You will be supported to follow a discovery process to scope out and plan a digital transformation project. You may have the option to develop your project further through the management consultancy and/or individual project modules.
The assessment evaluates you individually to assess how well you have developed both your factual understanding of the topic and skills in applying your knowledge.
Resit is by resubmission of a revised report.
