To help you transition smoothly into life at Newcastle University Business School, we've designed this bespoke schedule for your course. It contains a mix of informative sessions, networking opportunities and fun activities.
You will find a list of your activities below. Click on an activity title to show the activity description.

09:30 – DPD Welcome and Programme Introduction – NUBS 5.12
Start your university journey by meeting your Degree Programme Director and finding out what’s in store for your time at Newcastle. Discover how your programme is structured, what you’ll be learning and the opportunities available to you along the way. It’s also a chance to meet your cohort and ask any questions you may have.

You will have some time to complete the student induction survey. Your feedback helps us to understand your experience and identify any further support you may need.

11:00 – Meet the MBA Semester 1 Module Leaders – NUBS 5.12
Meet the academics who will be teaching you this year and get a first look at what you’ll be studying. Find out what to expect from your modules, how you’ll learn and what you can look forward to exploring. You’ll also have the opportunity to put faces to names and ask any questions before teaching gets underway.

13:30 – Introduction to the Education Team and SWA – NUBS 5.12
Come and meet the Education Team and Student Wellbeing Adviser. Learn who to contact for administrative support and discover the wellbeing services available to you.

17:00 - Executive Networking Evening - NUBS 8.10
Kick off the new academic year at our first MBA networking event, bringing together incoming and outgoing MBA students, alumni and friends of the MBA community for an evening of new connections, shared experiences and engaging conversation.

09:30 - Day at the Beach - Grand Hotel Tynemouth
Join your fellow MBA students for a day at the beach focused on building strong connections and developing lasting team relationships. The day will include team-building activities and a beach yoga session, providing a great opportunity to unwind, collaborate, and get to know your cohort in a unique setting.

Grab a drink, take a break and come and meet your new Business School community. The Community Café is a relaxed space to chat with other students, meet staff and make some new connections. Whether you have questions or simply want to get to know some friendly faces, you're very welcome to attend anytime during the day.

09:30 – Toon Trek: A Team Challenge – NUBS 1.03
Ready to explore the 'Toon'? Get out into Newcastle and explore the city centre with other Business School students. Work together and put your teamwork and research skills to the test to answer questions and find specific locations, discovering some of the city along the way. Most importantly, it’s a chance to have fun and make some new friends.

10:00 - Sustainability Challenge - NUBS 1.01
How can businesses help create a more sustainable future? Get ready to tackle this question as part of an interactive team challenge. Work with your new classmates to explore real-world sustainability issues, share ideas and come up with creative solutions. No previous knowledge needed — just bring your ideas and your enthusiasm!
