Newcastle University Business School has been officially re-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the highest standards of achievement in business education.

24 July 2025

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International is the world’s largest and most prestigious business education alliance. It has announced that Newcastle University Business School has successfully extended its AACSB business accreditation for another six years, as of July 2025.

This significant milestone reflects the School’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellence in education, research, engagement and societal impact.

“We are thrilled to have achieved AACSB re-accreditation for six years. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, and partners who continuously drive innovation and excellence in everything we do. It's a proud moment for our entire business school community,” said Kimberley Drummond, Accreditation Manager at Newcastle University Business School.

Recognition of excellence

Established in 1916, AACSB International (AACSB) is the world’s largest business education association, connecting educators, learners, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders. With members in over 100 countries and territories, AACSB elevates the quality and impact of business schools globally.

Achieving AACSB accreditation involves a rigorous and comprehensive process, including an in-depth internal review and an external peer evaluation. Following a visit by the AACSB Peer Review Team (PRT) in March 2025, the accreditation was endorsed by the AACSB Continuous Improvement Review Committee and ratified by the AACSB International Board of Directors, affirming that Newcastle University Business School continues to meet the highest standards of quality in business education.

Professor Stewart Robinson, Dean of Newcastle University Business School, commented: “Achieving reaccreditation from the AACSB is recognition of the quality and excellence of our programmes, and reflects our position as a leading international business school. AACSB accreditation particularly focuses on how we have sought, and continue to seek, to continuously improve across all our endeavours. I am delighted that a panel of international experts have recognised our excellence in this respect.”

Dr Qionglei Yu, Director of Accreditation at the School, reflected: "We’re delighted to share that Newcastle University Business School has secured reaccreditation from AACSB for another six years. This recognition is awarded only to institutions that consistently demonstrate excellence in innovation, research and teaching. This achievement speaks volumes about the School’s strategic focus and the incredible collaboration across our entire School community. It demonstrates our collective dedication to continuous improvement and our determination to be a world-class business school that makes meaningful and lasting impacts on society. I’m truly honoured to celebrate this success with everyone who made it possible.”
