Making a Difference with The People’s Kitchen
Newcastle University Business School is proud to celebrate two impactful years of partnership with The People’s Kitchen through our charity of the year programme.
8 October 2025
The charity of the year initiative has brought together staff and students from across the University to support our local community in meaningful ways.
During our partnership, 37 volunteers from Newcastle University have contributed an incredible 204 hours of their time to The People’s Kitchen - a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community.
From bake sales and yoga fundraisers to our winter appeal and everyday acts of kindness, we’ve raised £1,566.98 (including Gift Aid) this year alone. Over the past two years, our total fundraising has reached £2,837.30, which is enough to sponsor 567 hot meals for those in need.
Our community has also donated more than 25 large bags of clothing and food, providing a vital boost to The People’s Kitchen and the people it serves.
We’re incredibly thankful for this partnership and the opportunity to support our neighbours. The impact we’ve made together is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration and compassion.
Looking ahead
We’re excited to announce that a new charity partner will be Groundwork North East and Cumbria, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and communities to become greener, fairer and stronger.
