The Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre Research Symposium 2026 is a two-day, in-person event hosted at Newcastle University Business School.
The symposium brings together researchers to present and discuss the latest policy-relevant research on the economics of cultural and creative industries, with a focus on collaboration, evidence and emerging challenges.
Call for submissions
The call for submissions is now open.
Researchers are invited to submit:
- extended abstracts for individual papers, and
- proposals for special sessions
Submissions should address policy-relevant themes within the cultural and creative industries.
Submissions and proposal should be sent directly via email to research@pec.ac.uk
Individual papers
Authors interested in submitting a paper to the Symposium should send an extended abstract of around 500 words.
Special sessions
We also accept proposals for special sessions. These should:
- indicate the planned topic/theme
- include a short description of the session and the intended beneficiaries, with a list of 3 to 4 speakers per session
