Energy, Justice and Ethics

Achieving social justice as we transition to renewable and clean energy comes with lots of challenges. These challenges cover ethical behaviours and attitudes to climate change.

The responsibility to investigate social justice is spread across all of those within the Energy sector.

Our Energy policy research group will be looking into several key areas. These are:

  1. Ethical evaluation and differentiated responsibilities in governing renewable energy transitions
  2. Intersections between social and technical issues of transitions to Renewable energy and a hydrogen economy
  3. Justice and alleviation of energy poverty while in transition to new technologies and energy systems
  4. Conflicts and synergies between perceptions and technology acceptance
  5. Business models and payback periods of renewable and hydrogen technology adoption in various age groups
  6. Ethical marketing practices and social acceptance of technologies
