Energy Research Partnerships and Funding

QR Strategic Priorities Fund

The Centre for Energy is a Newcastle University initiative supported by the University and philanthropic donation from our supporters.

The Centre has a number of ongoing energy research partnerships and funding with industry. This includes, for example:

Academic partners

We welcome the opportunity to work closely with external academic partners.

We work closely with Durham and Northumbria Universities on the North East Centre for Energy Materials (NECEM) and the ReNU Centre for Doctoral Training, for example.

We are a member of the N8 group of northern research-intensive universities, and have been collaborating with N8 colleagues on Net Zero North.

we also work closely with other Newcastle University Research Centres including Data, Cities, and ONE Planet.

We undertake shared horizon scanning and collaborate to maximise global reach, impact and profile for the University.
