Edward Heath Lecture

Hosted by Dr Martin Farr, Co-Chair of the Public Lectures Committee 

Chris Patten was Chairman of the Conservative Party 1990-92, Secretary of State for the Environment 1989-89, and a Minister of State in several departments during the 1980s. A former Chancellor of Newcastle University, he was also the last Governor of Hong Kong from 1992 to 1997 when sovereignty was transferred to China, the experience of which led to his book East and West.

This event will be held in-person in the Curtis Auditorium, Herschel Building, NE1 7RYAll our events remain free and open to all, but pre-booking is now required. Bookings for lectures will open at 10.00am one week before the event, via the link below.
