Spectroscopy and Elemental Analysis
Our facilities, advice and expertise are available to support your pursuit of research.
We can offer a variety of other techniques, such as Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), Ultraviolet-Visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS), Fluorescence spectroscopy and Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Sulfur (CHNS) elemental analysis.
If you require any technique not currently shown on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you.
Quick, non-destructive characterisation of a wide range of organic, polymeric and inorganic compounds. We have several Perkin Elmer Spectrum 2 and a Thermo Nicolet is50 available.
Commonly used for the quantification of a range of compounds in solution, including biological molecules, conjugated organic molecules and transition metals. Other applications include reaction rate monitoring, and structural elucidation of organic compounds.
A type of electromagnetic spectroscopy used to analyze fluorescence from a sample. We have a Shimadzu RF-6000 which can be used to generate excitation and emission spectra.
Our CHNS elemental analyzer’s allows rapid determination of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulphur from a range of solid and liquid samples. The analysis of Organic, Inorganic, and Elemental Carbon Phases is also possible for a range of samples using Temperature Ramping on our RC612.
