Meet Ellie

Modern Languages BA (French and Spanish), Class of 2024

Introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about what you've done since graduating

After graduating in July 2024, I started a job in sales where I could work on French/Spanish projects.

It was an amazing opportunity with a great company but I didn't really enjoy sales. I now work as a project co-ordinator at an events agency and love it.

Why did you choose to study at Newcastle University?

Location was the main reason I chose to study here - I'm originally from Newcastle and love the city.

How do you think your course prepared you for your chosen career?

Gaining independence from my year abroad really helped to prepare me for the 'real world.'

What did you enjoy most about your time at Newcastle University?

My year abroad was my favourite part. I had the most amazing time working in Paris and studying in Barcelona and Lisbon. I met lifelong friends - it was the best year of my life.

Describe your time at Newcastle University in three words

New friends, hard work, determination.
