Teresa Strachan Elected as Fellow of the Royal Town Planning Institute

Former Senior Lecturer in Planning elected to RTPI's highest professional membership grade.

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape are delighted to note that Teresa Strachan has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), the highest professional membership grade available.

Speaking of Teresa’s achievement, Head of School, Dr Paola Gazzola said:

Over the years, Teresa has demonstrated a sustained and outstanding contribution to advancing the subject and profession of Planning among our students and through her engagement work with schools, communities and practitioners. She has done so with dedication, curiosity, openness, respect and integrity. Teresa's Fellowship of the RTPI exemplifies her leadership, dedication and contribution that she offered to Planning education and to the profession. Congratulations Teresa for this well-deserved recognition and for your many achievements in planning!”

Teresa, a former Senior Lecturer in Planning at Newcastle, has been instrumental in supporting students through their professional education, as Programme Director of the Certificate in Planning Practice and with her work on the Yes Planning project.
