Architecture students gain valuable application and interview experience

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape recently hosted SPRITE - NITE (Speed Portfolio Rehearsal Interview Taster Evening), an event organised in association with the RIBA NE for students soon to graduate in architecture at both Newcastle and Northumbria University. Practitioners from Newcastle and further afield: Ryder Architecture, FaulknerBrowns, Mawson Kerr, Page/Park, Levitt Bernstein, Grimshaw, Nappers and GT3 joined in-person or via Zoom to offer mock interviews. This was a great opportunity for students who are in the process of applying for their year out in practice, to gain experience discussing their work with potential employers and to receive feedback on their portfolios and CVs. Coming soon after students’ final hand-in, the event was informal and celebratory in atmosphere, supporting students to approach practices with confidence and a good understanding of what employers are likely to be looking for. We’d like to thank all practitioners who supported the event so generously with their time and expertise.
