To help you transition smoothly into university life, we've designed this bespoke schedule for your course. It contains a mix of informative sessions, networking opportunities and fun activities.

Some activities are specific to your course, while others will introduce you to opportunities and events across the wider university.

  • some activities may require sign-up in order to attend. If applicable, sign-up links will be provided in the activity description
  • most sessions are compulsory, but some are optional – this will be specified in the activity description

Tuesday 16 September

Welcome session led by your Degree Programme Director (DPD), Dr Eftychia Palamida, who will welcome you to your programme.

11:00 – Meet the Academics – NUBS 1.13

Time: 11:00 to 12:00

Thursday 18 September

10:00 – Newcastle Challenge – NUBS 1.03

Time: 10:00 to 12:00

Event for Master's students in the Business School. Work collaboratively to tackle a sustainability challenge – a great opportunity to get to know your peers and become a global systemic thinker.

 

12:00 – Introduction to Linkedin Learning – Online via Teams

Time: 12:00 to 12:30

Venue: Online via Teams

Business School Director of Digital Education, Dr David Grundy, will introduce you to LinkedIn Learning and explain how you can use this to support your studies. This session will be recorded for those unable to attend live. Once you have completed your registration you will receive an email with details of how you can access LinkedIn Learning.

Friday 19 September

10:00 – Personal Tutor Meetings – venue TBC

Time: 10:00 to 11:00

Venue: Venue TBC

Come to a group meeting with your allocated Personal Tutor (PT). They will be your own point of contact during your programme for advice and guidance on personal and academic matters. You will be notified of your Personal Tutor and room details by email.

Changes to Personal Tutor sessions may be required due to staff availability.
