Dr Amy Linh Thuy Nguyen is a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in International Management at the Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle University, UK.

Amy's research expertise is in the areas of International Business, Business History, and International Management.
Research Interests
Her main research interests are the following:
- foreign direct investment (FDI)
- international trade
- intellectual property rights
- innovation
- risk management strategies
- knowledge transfer
- organisational learning
Her research focuses on strategic sectors such as pharmaceuticals and medicine, and recently on semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI), and healthcare management.

Amy welcomes PhD applicants who wish to receive PhD supervision in the fields of International Business, Business History, and International Management.

Industrial Relevance
Amy has experience with some consulting projects and mentoring startups. Having had some industry experiences in both Vietnam and the UK (Australia & New Zealand Banking Group, United Nations Development Programme, Asia Scotland Institute, Total System Services), Amy is keen on bringing these industry experiences into her academic career.
Conferences
Amy has presented her research at a number of International Business and Business History conferences, where she was a recipient of the Top 3 Best Paper Award from Reading United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD) International Business Conference (Reading, UK/2019), and a finalist for the Best Doctoral Thesis Proposal at European International Business Academy (EIBA) Annual Conference (Leeds, UK/2019).
