I am Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and I joined Newcastle University Business School in February 2021. Previously, I worked at Alliance Manchester Business School.
Currently, my research agenda is structured around the study of innovation and nascent entrepreneurship and looks at the contribution of universities to entrepreneurship and the role of contextual determinants in nurturing sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems. I use the lenses of graduate entrepreneurship as a vehicle to study nascent entrepreneurship, the organisational (HEIs) incentives to it and the impact of these on graduates’ endeavours. This involves reconsidering the range of channels that enable knowledge creation and exchange, such as: the variety of entrepreneurial outputs generated by universities; the contribution of teaching to skills formation, diffusion and local retention of graduates/graduate ventures; and the system of incentives in place at the organisational and national level (e.g.: metrics) that channel knowledge exchange practices.
