I joined Newcastle University Business School in 2015, and I am a Senior Lecturer in the Leadership, Work and Organisation [LWO] Subject Group.
I am a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CFCIPD), a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and a Chartered Management and Business Educator (CMBE).
My teaching focuses on human resource management and business consultancy, drawing on my previous career as an HR Consultant and Quality Assessor.
My areas of interest are focused on the integration of work integrated learning [WIL] into the curriculum, the transition of students into HE, their acquisition of academic and professional skills, and in particular the development of employability skills.
I am the Strategic Lead for Employability and Enterprise for the Business School, and have implemented a range of extra-curricula skills development and employer led events.
I am also the Co-Director of Scholarship.
My research interests focus on understanding and improving student experience and future employability.
I teach on various Business Management and Human Resource Management undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
I am the Module Leader for the capstone Management Consultancy Module BUS3053, that provides opportunities for undergraduate students to work with external clients to research an agreed business issue and offer recommendations for improvement.
I also designed and developed an optional Stage 2 module that provides UG Business Management students with a route to professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personal and Development [CIPD].
I am the Module Leader for NBS3000 Business School Mobility, a module that is delivered across the majority of our undergraduate degree programmes for students undertaking an intercalating year, either work placement or study abroad.
