Sarah Carnegie is a member of the Leadership, Work and Organisation [LWO] Subject Group, having joined the teaching staff at Newcastle University Business School in 2015. Sarah’s teaching is focused on human resource management and business consultancy, drawing on her career as an HR Consultant and Quality Assessor.
Sarah’s areas of interest are focused on the integration of work integrated learning into the curriculum, the transition of students into HE, their acquisition of academic and professional skills, and in particular the development of employability skills. Sarah is the Employability and Education Enhancement Lead (EEE) for LWO.
Sarah is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and Co-Chair of the CIPD North East of England Branch Committee, she is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Research interests focus on understanding and improving student experience and future employability.
Sarah Carnegie has taught on various HR and Business Management undergraduate and postgraduate modules, initially as an adjunct member of staff, starting in 2004, and has subsequently taken on responsibility as a Module Leader for both core and optional modules on the UG Business Management Programme.
Sarah is Module Leader for the Management Consultancy Module, that provides opportunities for undergraduates to work with external clients. She has also designed and developed an optional Stage 2 module that provides UG Business Management with a route to professional membership of the CIPD.
