Our People
Background
Background: I am a third-year PhD researcher funded by the Northern Ireland and North East Doctoral Training Partnership (NINE DTP). My research examines British Chinese food culture and the Chinese diaspora across cities and small towns in the Tyneside area. With a background in anthropology, I use ethnographic methods to explore how traditional British Chinese food has been established and how this food culture serves as a platform through which Chinese diaspora communities engage with other local communities and negotiate their identities.
Teaching experience: Qualitative Research Methods (undergraduate module); Quantitative Analysis (PGCert module)
