Head of Business, Innovation & Skills
- Professional Services lead for business, innovation and skills (BIS) within the Faculty of Science, Agriculture & Engineering.
- Works in partnership with Dean of BIS to develop and implement a Faculty BIS strategy, addressing the Government’s Levelling Up agenda, taking into account the commitment to Net Zero and wider environmental and social commitments.
- Account Manager for the Faculty, co-ordinating various teams that support and facilitate business, innovation and skills.
- Undertaking a one year secondment from Deputy Director of Faculty Operations role.
Deputy Director of Faculty Operations
- Leads the Faculty Student & Academic Services Team of around 50 staff across five core teams: Student Recruitment & Outreach, Education, Learning Partnerships, Global and Planning & Performance.
- Responsible for the Global activity of the Faculty, including International Relations and Partnerships, student recruitment with global reach and student mobility.
- Responsible for Engagement activity including community and school STEMM outreach, engagement between students and industry, and external partnerships.
- Responsible for the planning process of the Faculty including Strategic Planning, Annual Reviews, Student Number Planning and Business Continuity and Risk Management.
- Deputises for the Director of Faculty Operations across all work functions as required.
Worked for Newcastle University since 1997 in a number of roles ranging from technical laboratory work, financial administration, student lifecycle management and senior leadership positions.
The aspects of my current role that I enjoy most are leadership, mentoring and developing new business and international partnerships. I feel proud to work for a world-leading University with research and teaching activities that make a difference to people's lives locally, nationally and internationally.
