I hold a degree in Sociology and a PhD in Social Sciences (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), and have been working as an Assistant Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Conicet, Argentina) since 2023. I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow at Newcastle University. The 2-year fellowship began in September 2025, and it is focused on print culture and cultures of democracy.
My doctoral dissertation, funded with a doctoral fellowship awarded by Conicet, delves into the logics of domination of the literary field of Buenos Aires focused on the trajectory of César Aira. The postdoctoral research project (Conicet) was focused on the transnational circulation of Aira’s books.
I am one of the editors of the Open Access journal 7 Essays. Latin American Journal of Sociology, Politics, and Culture (Gino Germani Research Institute-University of Buenos Aires, Argentina).

My current research project contributes to the growing interdisciplinary field of the Sociology of Literature by studying the vital role played by the creative industry and economy of publishing in shaping cultures of participation and democracy. It aims to carry out a comparative study of two small, independent publishing houses established and led by women at key historical conjunctures of post-authoritarian transition to democracy: Ada Korn Editora (AKE), founded by Ada Korn in 1984 in Buenos Aires, following the 1976-1983 civic-military dictatorship in Argentina; and Ediciones Torremozas (ET), founded by Luzmaría Jiménez Faro in 1982 in Madrid, following the 1939-1975 Franco dictatorship in Spain. Both publishing houses created a platform for emerging Argentine and Spanish authors, many of whom were women, thereby challenging the limits and dominant practices of the literary field at a critical moment of societal and political transition. AKE closed in 2003, due to distribution obstacles; ET continues to operate today. Both hold unexplored, and hereunto uncatalogued, archives that tell a hidden story of women’s literature and independent publishing as key components of the cultural infrastructure of two nascent democracies. FEMBOKS’ beneficiaries are cultural studies and political science focused on democracy; industry-based actors working in the independent publishing sector; and policymakers supporting cultures of democracy.
In 2025 with the Group of Studies of Sociology of Literature (Gino Germani Research Institute, School of Social Science, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina) we will be hosting the 2nd edition of the Symposium of Sociology of Literature that will take place virtually and in person in Argentina.
