HSK3(B) Course

Who is the HSK3(B) course suitable for?

The HSK3(B) Course is suitable for students with 60 hours of Chinese learning and those interested in taking the HSK level 3 test. Upon finishing the course, your vocabulary will reach about 600 words.

What textbook is used in this course?

The textbook we will use for this course is "Standard Course HSK 3". This book is organized into 20 lessons. Throughout the course, we will be covering the material from lessons 11 to 20.

What will you gain from the HSK3(B) course?

Communication skills

At the end of the HSK3(B) course, you'll be able to:

  • carry out more complex conversations in daily life and talk about more complex experiences
  • talk about complex feelings and emotions and express views and ideas more fluently and authentically
  • use Chinese to give reminders, make more complex requests, and make arrangements

Language knowledge

Chinese characters

You'll gain more knowledge about the formation of Chinese Characters. You'll learn about Pictophonetic Characters, which make up the largest percentage of all characters. In addition, this course will select the learned Chinese characters as morphemes, and generate new words from these learned words without changing the morpheme meaning. This will cultivate your ability to understand words with morpheme meaning and construct new words.

Chinese complements

You'll further study Chinese complements and learn about complex complements of state and extension of the complements of direction. In addition, this course will teach more unique sentence patterns in Chinese such as the “Ba” sentences, and the “Bei” sentences.

Chinese sayings

This course will teach 10 common Chinese sayings. Most of the characters and words involved in these sayings are learned in the HSK1, HSK2, and HSK3(A) courses. By learning these Chinese sayings, learners will be able to use Chinese more authentically. 

Culture experience

Drung this course, you will:

  • gain the cultural knowledge contained in Chinese sayings
  • gain cultural knowledge about what food Chinese people eat on their birthdays, and taboo gifts in China
  • experience Chinese food culture and gift-giving culture by watching videos and in-class participation
