The narrator project: How social bias affects engagement with literary fiction

Social bias is a complex issue. We have substantial evidence that it affects how we interact and make decisions about people, but we know little about how social bias affects how we engage with other people's stories. Do we attend to information different depending on who is narrating? We want to conduct an online experiment with a variety of measures (e.g. self-report scales, free recall, aesthetic measures) to achieve a more differentiated understanding of how the identity of a narrator and we perceive them affects the type of information we pay attention to, remember, and use as justification for judgement.
