Impact of our Teaching

Below are examples of the contributions made by Newcastle University students on the topic of anti-racism.

These 4 videos are some of the very best videos produced by stage 3 BA students taking the module ‘Social Justice and Education’ as part of their Education or Combined Honours degree. The module is partly assessed by the making of a video (10-15 minutes in length) which asks the students to name a problem in education relating to an educational inequity and to propose a solution, both of which must be justified and situated within a political typology. These videos focus directly in race equality and anti-racism. Permission to share these videos has been granted by each individual student (Heather Smith, ECLS).

Students studying the module ‘Race and racism’ led by Dr Bethan Harries, a Senior Lecturer in Sociology produced blogs about their interests and activism in anti-racism.
