Scotswood Garden education and training theory of change – COVID-19 response

Scotswood Garden is an independent charity delivering a school visits programme, a Forest School intervention and Forest School training in the west of Newcastle. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a number of barriers to engaging with and supporting schools and communities, whilst the need and benefit to children and young people spending time in nature, particularly for our city’s most vulnerable children, has never been greater. This research would document how Scotswood Garden’s education team have adapted in response to the pandemic, the impact for local schools, children and young people and community, and articulate future actions and ambitions.
