Mags was born in Northumberland in 1978, leaving Bedlingtonshire High School to go to Manchester University to study Chemical Engineering in 1996. She joined Deloitte LLP in 2000, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2003. She moved to Deloitte’s London office in 2012 and became a partner in 2019. In 2021 she and her wife moved back to Mags’ beloved Northumberland and she now splits her time between the North East and London.
At Deloitte, Mags supports Chief Financial Officers across the public sector to increase the value, contribution and efficiency of the finance function. Alongside her client-facing role, she is one of the sponsoring partners for Deloitte’s LGBT+ network, Proud, and is one of the firm’s Respect & Inclusion advisers.
She is a member of Newcastle University’s Council and Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee.
