Goal Setting & Reflection

In Goal Setting & Reflection, you can create goals linked to your academic studies, skills development, or other aspects of your time at Newcastle that you want to focus on. By default, all goals are shared with your Academic Adviser.

You can also use the reflection area to reflect on anything relevant to your learning or wider student experience. If you wish, you can link your reflections to specific skills and attributes from the Skills & Attributes Framework, helping you explore your strengths, development areas and experiences in more detail.

This area gives you a space to capture your thoughts, set priorities and keep track of what you want to work towards during your time at Newcastle.

Goal Setting

Adding a goal

Goals help turn your ambitions into actionable plans. When creating a goal, consider what you want to achieve, how you will measure success, and the steps you will take to get there. You can update your goals as you progress and use them as a focus for discussions with your Academic Adviser.

Reflective Diary

The Reflective Diary provides a space to record experiences, achievements, challenges and learning throughout your time at Newcastle. You can reflect on academic work, feedback, extracurricular activities, or any experience that has contributed to your development.

Reflections can be linked to skills and attributes from the Skills & Attributes Framework, helping you identify strengths, recognise areas for development, and build evidence of your growth over time. By default, reflections are shared with your Academic Adviser, supporting more informed and meaningful Academic Advising conversations.

Regular reflection can help you make sense of your experiences, celebrate achievements, learn from challenges, and identify future goals.
