Newcastle University Business School is delighted to announce that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact and the UN Global Compact Network UK, a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

Sustainable steps forward

The Business School joins thousands of organisations globally and across the UK that are committed to taking responsible business action to create the world we all want.

At Newcastle University Business School, sustainability is central to our mission, vision and values. We are committed to developing future leaders who shape responsible business practice. This is reflected in our research, which addresses global challenges such as climate change, social inequality and responsible innovation, alongside a curriculum that equips students with the skills and knowledge to drive sustainable change throughout their careers.

Our academic community works closely with businesses, policymakers and local communities to create solutions that deliver real-world impact. From supporting organisations to reduce their environmental footprint to promoting inclusive growth and ethical decision-making, we are committed to ensuring our work contributes positively to society.

UN Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, with more than 15,000 participating companies.

"We also support businesses taking action to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. We are delighted and encouraged by Newcastle University Business School's endorsement of our initiative."
