Dr Haiyan Lu
Lecturer in Ops & Supply Chain Mgmt
Haiyan earned her Ph.D degree in Logistics and Operation Management from Cardiff University Business School. Acknowledged as to the scientific rigor of her phd performance, she received the James Cooper Cup award from CILT in 2018. Haiyan joint Newcastle University Business School in 2021 as a lecturer /Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Haiyan's research interests particularly in sustainable supply chain management and sustainability related issues in the food sectors. Sustainability practice is integrated in supply chain management activities, and more broadly, influenced by both macro and micro factors, including institutional and political enforcement as well as company strategy and network governance. Managing the food system is fairly complicated, and that drives a further area of her work in investigating sustainable food chains in emerging economics.
Haiyan is an active researcher and she publishes in world-leading journals, including Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Production Research and more the like. She also delivers professional service and revises papers for journals, such as Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Production Economics, and Journal of Business Research. She is also an area of associate editor in Operations Research Manegement.
