Profile
Dr Rosie Sadraei is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Entrepreneurship at Newcastle University Business School, having joined the University in June 2026. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), recognising her sustained commitment to excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. Prior to joining Newcastle University, Dr Sadrari held research and teaching positions at Aston University and Coventry University.
Dr Sadraei has published peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognised journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research (IJEBR), Entrepreneurship & Regional Development (ERD), Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, among others. Her research has been presented at leading international conferences and has received international recognition, including the Best Paper Award from the Entrepreneurship (ENT) Division of the Academy of Management in both 2025 and 2026.
Dr Sadrari is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and the European Academy of Management (EURAM). She is committed to advancing impactful entrepreneurship research, delivering high-quality teaching, and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. She is an active reviewer for several leading journals.
Research Interests
My research focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and decision-making, with particular interests in:
- Women's entrepreneurship and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems: Examining how women entrepreneurs navigate institutional, social, and market barriers, with a particular focus on sustainability, circular economy, and digital transformation.
- Entrepreneurial cognition and entrepreneurial signalling: Investigating how entrepreneurs recognise opportunities, make strategic decisions under uncertainty, and communicate venture quality to investors, stakeholders, and international markets.
- Digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence: Exploring how digital technologies and AI shape entrepreneurial behaviour, venture growth, responsible innovation, and organisational decision-making.
- International entrepreneurship: Examining the cognitive, behavioural, and contextual factors that influence internationalisation, international networking, and cross-border entrepreneurial growth.
