Living the Dream? The Reality of Working in the Creative Industries
What does good work look like in the creative industries, and how can employers and policymakers help ensure creative careers are sustainable and rewarding?
Creative PEC will launch a new State of the Nations report exploring job quality across the UK's creative industries. Produced in partnership with Work Advance, the research builds on the 2023 Good Work Review and examines experiences across different creative sectors and demographic groups.
The findings suggest that many creative workers continue to face challenges, including insecure working conditions, limited access to training and high levels of reported stress-related illness.
This event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and researchers to discuss the report's findings, explore what they mean for creative workers and employers, and consider what needs to change to improve job quality across the sector.
The panel includes Leila D'Aronville, founder of the North East Cultural Freelancers Network and the UK Government's Freelance Champion. It also includes representatives from the British Film Institute, Creative Lives in Progress, Work Advance and Creative PEC.
Attendees can join online or in person at RSA House, London.
Following the panel discussion, in-person guests will have the opportunity to continue the conversation and make new connections at a networking reception from 16:00 to 17:00.
