A quarter century of improving our health

Medics are today celebrating 25 years of improving the health of our nation with discussions on the future of the NHS.

A programme of events this afternoon sees Sir Liam Donaldson, Chancellor of Newcastle University, discussing the future of public health. Former students will also be revealing how the programme has helped them pursue a career in the British Health Service – or in its equivalent overseas.

The MSc in Public Health and Health Services Research taught with the expertise of the experts in the Institute of Health and Society is celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

The programme of education in academic health care for voluntary organisations or local authorities involved in health improvement covers: the factors that can influence the health of populations and the provision of health and health care; research skills; and how to apply research findings to improve health and the delivery of health care services.
