Enterprise and Innovation

Our Enterprise and Innovation Scholarship is intended to foster an interest and build skills in innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Funding

A scholarship is available to one postgraduate UK/EU student. We are now accepting applications from students planning to start their studies in September 2018. The scholarship has a value of £3,000, payable towards tuition fees.

Eligibility criteria

You could be eligible to apply for the Enterprise and Innovation Scholarship if you:

  • have been offered a place on the MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship or the MA in Arts, Business and Creativity
  • have been assessed as UK/EU for fees purposes and are wholly or partially self-financing
  • intend to register to start your studies during the 2018-19 academic year

How to apply

The award is offered on a merit basis and applications must be made in writing on the ‌application form (PDF:168KB) and submitted electronically to nubs@ncl.ac.uk.

Up to two students per annum will be chosen according to evidence of academic ability, energy and commitment to studies, financial circumstances and quality of application.

Business Excellence

Business Excellence Scholarships are available to outstanding UK students entering selected Master’s* courses in 2018. Scholarship awards of £2,000 are payable towards the cost of tuition fees and will be awarded to high achieving students

Partial-fee awards of £2,000, payable towards the cost of tuition fees. will be awarded to high achieving UK students commencing a Business School Masters course for 2018 entry.

September 2018 for one year of study.

Application closing date

There is no application process for this scholarship. All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and hold an unconditional offer will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • hold an unconditional offer of admission to one of the Business School’s eligible masters programmes*
  • have obtained a UK 1st Class Honours Degree
  • be assessed as a UK student for fee paying purposes
  • pay a deposit of £500

The following applicants will not be eligible to receive awards:

  •   Current students, registered at the University who have already commenced their postgraduate degree at the time of the award
  • Students transferring or repeating courses
  • Fully funded students

Should a scholarship recipient not complete the full master’s programme on which they have registered, the scholarship will be applied to the relevant tuition fee on a pro-rata basis. 

*Eligible programmes

This scholarship is available for all of the Business School’s postgraduate taught masters programmes with the exception of the following:

1. Operations Management (Dual Award) MSc/MS

2. Advanced International Business Management (Dual Award) MSc/MSc

3. Advanced International Business Management and Marketing (Dual Award) MSc/MSc

4. MBA 

How to apply

No application required, scholarships will be allocated to eligible unconditional offer holders on a rolling basis.

Humanities and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Newcastle University is pleased to offer Humanities and Social Sciences Postgraduate scholarships to assist non-UK European Union nationals to study a postgraduate Master’s degree.

Value of award

£2,000 tuition fee awards.

Start date and duration

September 2018 for the duration of your course.

Application closing date

Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle; early course applications are therefore encouraged.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for awards applicants must:

  • hold the equivalent of a first class UK honours degree
  • have an offer for an eligible taught postgraduate degree programme within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • must be non UK European Union nationals and must be classed as EU for fee paying purposes.

Eligible candidates will be assessed as part of their academic application.
