Staff and Students gather to celebrate the achievements of students over the past academic year

Earlier this month, students and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of students over the past academic year.

The Student Celebration Evening is an annual event which celebrates those student who have made significant contributions to the Business School. This year, the event was held at As You Like It, Jesmond.

Students invited included:

  • Business and Events Champions
  • Peer Mentors
  • Global Experience Opportunity Interns
  • Placement Students
  • Plus students who have provided web profiles and entered competitions throughout 2017/18

The celebration event gave staff and students the opportunity to reflect on the year, and enjoy socialising before the exam period started.

Following a speech from Dr. Frank Worthington, awards were given out to the students who staff felt had gone above and beyond their studies. The award winners were:

  • Most engaged Events Champion – Sami Dhaiby (MSc International Business Management)
  • Outstanding Business Champion – Kimberley Hackworth (MSc Global Human Resource Management)
  • Most engaged Peer Mentor – Natalie Dickens (BSc Marketing)
  • Best Call Conversion – Jan Ki Jo (MSc Accounting Finance & Strategic Investment)
  • Most interesting Postgraduate Student Profile – Camilla Rummler
  • Biggest contribution to our digital channels – Jake Hanmore
  • Most engaged GEO intern – Brega Mullan

Overall the night was a huge success, and we would like to take this opportunity once again to thank all those students who have added great value to the Business School.
