Play on the Pitch Newcastle United Foundation success

Newcastle University Business School is teaming up with the Newcastle United Foundation for the 2016 Play on the Pitch event taking place on Monday 30 May. By sponsoring a training session for the 5 a side teams the Business School hopes to engage local young people, raise aspirations, and increase awareness towards the opportunities of higher education in the North East. 

As the Foundation harnesses football’s power to deliver positive change in the community, similarly the Business School strives to widen participation in both civic and socially responsive activities.  

Anna Tilba, Director of Corporate Engagement, recently visited the Foundation to host their Employability Session and a Raffle:

"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Business School to support and enhance the Foundation, with the hope that by interacting, and learning from the experience, we will be able to demonstrate how accessible higher education is. 

A great example of this is how the Foundation’s Employability Programme Team is currently working with the Talent Match participants to support their continued development and job applications.  

From this pool of young people, several have gone on to do work experience with local businesses, with another two successfully securing jobs."  

In order to cultivate local, national and international talent Newcastle University also awards a number of scholarships per year to UK, EU and International students.
