Professor Gabriele Vosseberg

Background

Gabriele joined Newcastle University Business School in September 2019 as Professor and Deputy Director, leading on Education and Internationalisation. Formerly, she was Associate Dean International & Development and Head of Department for Accounting and Finance at the University of Exeter Business School where she joined in 2009. Experience in these leadership roles was preceded by working as Director of International Relations at Hull University Business School. 

Gabriele has extensive experience in leading on the development and delivery of strategies on enhancing the internationalisation agenda and alumni engagement, as well as providing academic leadership for international business school accreditations (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA). 

Research

My research interests relate to Accounting History, and specifically changing accounting systems such as the result of German reunification. In more recent years, I have become particularly interested in Research related to Higher Education of Management, specifically Policy, management and governance in HE, Internationalisation in HE and Student transitions and graduate employability. 

Teaching

With over 25 years teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level, Gabriele has taught modules such as Financial Reporting, Financial Accounting, Accounting for Managers and Comparative International Accounting, and supervised dissertations. She has also had responsibility for study abroad modules for many years.
