Dr Qionglei Yu

Senior Lecturer in Marketing

Background

 
Dr. Qionglei Yu obtained her Ph.D. in Management in 2013 from the University of Sheffield. She graduated with an MBA degree at the University of Hull. Prior to joining Newcastle University Business School, she worked for Kent Business School, Canterbury Christ Church Business School, and School of Business Administration at Zhejiang Gongshang University in China. Dr. Yu also has experience in the industrial consultancy for companies in China, e.g. China Mobile, China Zheshang Insurance, China Tea Research Institute, Zhejiang China Commodities City Group Co., Zhejiang Haining China Leather City. etc.



Research

Dr. Yu’s current research interests are in three strands: Internal market orientation and employee well-being; Consumer acculturation; and tourist behaviour. She has received research funds from different sources and the latest one was a supervisor-led project with a grant of £72,926 from GCDC. She is now supervising a PhD student (towards completion) on the topic of Extended Internal Market Orientation and Employee Performance. Dr Yu welcomes prospective Ph.D. research students in the areas mentioned and other related areas. 





Teaching

Dr Yu has teaching experiences at undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA levels. She has been the module leader for modules like Strategic Brand Management, Consumer Behaviour, Buyer Decision Making, International Marketing, and Strategic Marketing Management.
