Dr Sandra Corlett is Senior Lecturer in Leadership Development and Organisation Futures at Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle University, UK. Sandra previously held academic leadership roles at Northumbria University, as Director of Postgraduate Research Degree programmes for the Faculty of Business and Law, and as Director of Corporate and Management Development programmes.

Sandra has a national reputation for her research in identity, leader and manager learning and development, leadership and followership and qualitative research methods. Her work has been published in Gender in Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Learning, Scandinavian Journal of Management, and The Journal of Leadership Studies: Advancing the practice of followership. Sandra has been Associate Editor of the International Journal of Management Reviews since being awarded Best Reviewer for the journal in 2015.  


Sandra was chair of the British Academy of Management's Special Interest Group on Identity from 2014-2017 and co-convened the BAM SIG Identity Track Conference from 2010-2014. 

Throughout her academic career Sandra has held a strong belief in practice-based continuing professional development and education for life as demonstrated through her teaching specialisms in developing global leadership competencies and her expertise and experience of learning and assessment methodologies which integrate real-world issues, a practitioner's prior and current experiences, and academic theory and practice. Sandra is an accredited coach and has experience of developing bespoke leadership programmes with a range of private and public sector organisations.

Sandra has successfully supervised 12 PhD and Professional Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) students and has been appointed examiner for 10 Doctoral theses.

Teaching

Sandra is Module Leader for, and teaches on, Personal and Professional Transformation on the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme.
