Dr Sawlat Zaman

Lecturer

Background

Sawlat received her PhD degree from Cardiff University in 2016. She also holds a Diploma in Social Science Research Methods (SSRM) from the same institute. Sawlat did her MBA (major in Finance) and undergraduate degree (BBA) from the pioneer business school in Bangladesh IBA, University of Dhaka, where she later joined and worked as a lecturer/  Assistant Professor  for almost five years. Sawlat's teaching career in the UK started with Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University from 2013 -2016. She joined Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle University in 2016 and is currently working as a lecturer in International Business and Management. Her teaching and research expertise lies in the field of Global HRM & Employment Relations, International Business Environment and Corporate Governance.

Sawlat also has work experience as a HR professional at UNICEF and UN-WFP Bangladesh. She worked as a part time researcher at NGOs dealing with issues such child labour, adolescent girls empowerment etc. In the UK, she was actively involved with a charitable organization BAWSO as a trustee board member (2015-2017).
