Background

Teng Li is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Newcastle University Business School and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK. His research interests lie in Social and Environmental Accounting, CSR/Sustainability Reporting Assurance and Stakeholder Engagement, with a particular focus on the context of emerging economies. The aim of his research is to explore the roles of accounting as a technology of both accountability and control in driving businesses to pursue long-term values, not short-term returns. Teng's recent publications on CSR reporting in China have appeared in Accounting Forum and Accounting and Business Research.
