Trip information

The fieldtrip involves all Stage 1 students travelling to one of the YHA sites in the Lake District. This is for 24 hours, timetabled during the first week of teaching, to complete a series of team building activities.

The trip includes:

transportation to the venues you have been allocated to
lunches, dinner and breakfast
team building tasks completed in allocated groups
pub quiz (delivered by Student Ambassadors)
orienteering the next morning before returning to Newcastle

You’ll work on building core communication and teamwork skills which are essential throughout your studies with us.

You'll also meet academic staff and students further along in their degree. You'll gain an insight into your course from those who have studied it, and from staff who will be teaching you.

This is something attendees enjoy every year. It helps students to settle in and make friends very early in the course.

Please bring the following items if you have them:

sturdy footwear appropriate for outdoor activity
waterproof jacket/clothing
items for an overnight stay
towel
suitable indoor clothing/footwear
water bottle
