Roger Bird

Senior Lecturer in Highway Engineering



Roger Bird graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Liverpool before working for six years for two local authorities. After becoming a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Chartered Engineer, he spent eleven years working for an international civil engineering consultancy. During that period he gained a Masters Degree in Urban (Civil) Engineering at South Bank University, graduating with Distinction and taking the annual prize. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.

Innovative research into cycling behaviour using GPS to determine the characteristics of cycle behaviour and journeys.
