I joined Newcastle University in May 2024 to work on an ESRC-funded Cessation of Volunteering project which explores the impact of being obliged to cease volunteering due to ill-health or other age-related reasons.
Before coming to Newcastle, I completed my doctoral research at the University of Glasgow in 2021 funded by Urban Studies Foundation, stayed and worked in the same institution on several research projects and roles subsequently. I have a deep interest in understanding people-place relationship, in particular, place attachment, which, developed from my PhD years, features in my current work and is drawing the various strands of my work together.
I am a mixed methods researcher. I have a good amount of experience in conducting qualitative interviews and cross-sectional surveys (including Public Participation GIS survey and choice experiment). I am a comfortable R user for computational statistical (including some spatial) analysis. I also have experience in conducting narrative reviews. I sit on the editorial board for Methodological Innovations (Sage Journal) from October 2023 to September 2026.
