The Confucius Institute at Newcastle University Successfully held the second teaching and research seminar on April 28, 2023. Focusing on the theme of Discovering the Fun and Misery of Chinese Characters and the Commonly Made Mistakes, the keynote speaker Wenwen Zhang, the CI overseas volunteer teacher, led all the Chinese staff of the Confucius Institute in exploring and discussing pressing issues in Chinese character teaching.

This is the second monthly seminar of a series of teaching and researching seminars organised by CI, which aim to promote teaching pedagogy exchanges and cooperation among Chinese language teachers. The series of seminars provide a platform for teachers to improve their teaching competencies so they can bring more exciting and rich Chinese learning experience to students at Newcastle University and local schools.
