Part of the Brexit Insight Series with Dr Michael Lloyd
Date/Time: Wednesday 07 February, 17:00 - 18:00
Venue: Room 4.20, Newcastle University Business School
This lecture series aims to provide a continuous insight into the positions and motivations of the two principal actors involved in the Brexit process - the EU 27, via the European Commission and European Parliament, representing the governments of the EU 27. The lectures will centre on the progress being made, or not being made, in the Article 50 process and dialogue.
Dr Michael Lloyd, visiting fellow in economics, has considerable EU political and economic experience, both working within and outside the two main EU institutions, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
This lecture will analyse the December agreement signed between the EU 27 and the UK in December 2017 and explore the implications for the second phase of the discussions on the 'transition' arrangement governing the framework of the future relationship between the EU 27 and the UK.
