On Wednesday 22 February, the Business School will be hosting ‘Gain a Global Advantage’.
As one of the School’s flagship events, Gain a Global Advantage it is an afternoon filled with inspiring talks, interactive workshops and networking opportunities with top global organisations.
This years’ event features speakers from a wide range of global companies, including; PepsiCo, Fever Tree, Ivy Park, The Sandpit, Deutsche Bank, Uber, and Lloyds Banking Group. Some of these inspirational speakers are Newcastle University Business School graduates.
“Where possible, we invite our alumni back to the Business School to share their experiences of working after graduation with our students. Many of our alumni go on to do great things globally and it is important that our students know that they could do the same”, commented Sharmishta Chatterjee-Banerjee, Head of External Relations at Newcastle University Business School.
Now in its fifth year, Gain a Global Advantage encourages students to think and act globally when it comes to their future careers. Global experience has become increasingly important in today’s competitive job market. One study has shown that six out of ten employers worldwide prioritise candidates who have demonstrated international experiences on their job applications (QS Global Employer Survey Report, 2011).
Sharmishta added: “It is so important that our students get exposure to these kinds of global opportunities, which help them to understand and experience the complexities of the global environment. We provide global opportunities for our students now, so that when they graduate, they’ll have the knowledge and the differential experience needed to succeed in the competitive global job market and careers beyond.
Gain a Global Advantage is being held on Wednesday 22 February 2017 from 12:30 at Newcastle University Business School. The event is open to all students from across the university.
