Research

Dr Yousry Ahmed research interests lie in the field of Behavioural Finance, Corporate finance, Capital Structure and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). In particular, his research investigates the predictive power of different business narratives on subsequent corporate decisions. It also provides new insights on the mechanism through which business sentiments can influence shareholders’ wealth. Dr Ahmed uses highly innovative research methodologies i.e., textual analysis computer software to measure the level and quality of narrative reporting and identify its information content. He has published work in leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Review of Financial Analysis and the Journal of International Business Review. He is a reviewer at International Review of Financial Analysis, International Business Review and Applied Accounting Research Journals.

I am always interested in discussing research proposals in these areas with prospective PhD students as well as other areas in finance.
