Radiochemistry
The cyclotron (ABT Molecular Imaging Biomarker Generator) at Newcastle University is partially funded from a £625,000 contribution from the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
This equipment is installed in the Bedson Building, within the School of Chemistry:
- very flexible radiosynthetic & analytical facility
- batch and microfluidic production
- range of [18F] fluoride chemistries possible
- small molecule and biomacromolecule targets
The facility includes multi-step systems for PET tracer production:
- gravatom hot cells
- batch production using Eckert and Ziegler Modular Lab
- microfluidic production using Advion NanoTek LF
