The School of Pharmacy has significant experience in conducting research studies.

By commissioning contract research, an organisation is provided with access to:

• research know-how
• state-of-the-art facilities

With access to modern research facilities and technologies, we deliver innovative ideas, concepts or solutions. Such projects have a pre-determined scope and timescale. They are bound by confidentiality and intellectual property provisions appropriate to the project. These measures are set in place to protect the interests of the commissioning organisation.

Newcastle Joint Research Office (NJRO)

The School also has an interest in clinical and translational research studies, with potential for contract research in this context. Such studies are managed by the Newcastle Joint Research Office (NJRO). This is a partnership between The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle University. This partnership enables businesses to undertake life-changing clinical and laboratory research.
