How to apply

Closing date: 28 March 2023

You will need to propose a novel research project in an area that fits within the EPSRC’s funding remit.

The scheme is designed to offer support and flexibility. You’ll need to outline the exact details of your fellowship.

We encourage applications from all EPSRC PhD students. Especially those from outside Newcastle University.

Project sponsor

You will need to choose an appropriate academic staff member, from Newcastle University, who can act as your project sponsor.

Before you apply, you should approach them and discuss your planned research proposal. Your project sponsor must be willing to support your project and, where appropriate, host the project in their research facilities.

Funding

The fellowship will be funded for a maximum of 24 months. It will have a minimum starting salary of £32,348 (pro-rata for part time requirements). You will also receive a minimum of £5,000 towards associated consumables, travel and outreach activities.
