Uni Unlocked
A series of online sessions designed to reflect the experiences, questions and priorities of students who may be balancing extra responsibilities, difficulties or navigating university applications with less access to support.
What is on offer?
We will be running 3 webinars between February - April. Each event will run approximately from 5pm to 6pm and will be delivered by our expert outreach facilitators who work across the country supporting students like yourself into University.
The events are invite only - you will receive a link to register by email (the email address on your UCAS application) if you have been made a contextual offer at Newcastle.
Your Uni Toolkit: Support, Success and Student Essentials - Wednesday 18th February
You’ll meet the teams who support students throughout their journey at Newcastle. From Accommodation and Careers to the Students’ Union and Wellbeing & Disability Services, you’ll get a clear overview of what’s available and how to access support when you need it.
Think of this as a practical introduction to the people and services that are there to help you settle in and thrive, as well as key information you might need through the application process in the coming months
From Stress to Success: Smarter Study for a Smooth Transition - Wednesday 4th March
This session focuses on developing healthy study habits — both for your upcoming exams and for university life.
We’ll share practical revision strategies, tips for managing stress during a busy period, and ways to look after your wellbeing while studying. You’ll also explore how developing these skills now can give you a head start for when you begin working on your first assignments at university
New Beginnings: Starting Uni with Confidence - Thursday 16th April
What are the first weeks of university really like?
Meet some of our current students as they share their honest experiences of starting at Newcastle. You’ll hear their top tips for settling in, making friends, managing the move, and getting involved in student life; from societies and sports to studying and day-to-day living.
This session is especially encouraged if you’re feeling unsure about belonging or finding your community at Newcastle. Our ambassadors come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, religions and life experiences, and are there to offer reassurance, insight, advice and encouragement.
